Business Development Manager

Join MasterBUILT Hotels, a leading company in North America, as a Business Development Manager for the Courtyard & Residence Inn by Marriott, Calgary South. We're seeking a highly motivated and results-driven individual to proactively solicit and convert new Corporate and SMERF opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target segments to expand the hotel's customer base
  • Research and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to develop effective sales strategies
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to generate leads and convert them into sales opportunities
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and potential clients through regular communication and networking
  • Understand client requirements and provide customized solutions to meet their needs
  • Address client inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns in a timely manner to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Develop and execute sales plans to achieve revenue targets and maximize profitability
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with clients to secure profitable deals
  • Prepare and issue event contracts on a timely basis and to agreed standards
  • Monitor sales performance and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns and marketing materials to attract new customers and retain existing ones
  • Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and other industry events to promote the hotel and its services
  • Utilize digital marketing channels to reach target audiences effectively
  • Establish partnerships with local businesses, travel agencies, event planners, and other organizations to drive referrals and bookings
  • Negotiate and manage partnerships and sponsorships to enhance the hotel's brand visibility and reputation
  • Support Director of Sales in preparation of regular reports on sales performance
  • Assist to drive revenue and increases market share across the segments of rooms, events, group, and other revenue generating sources
Qualifications:
  • Previous business development and group sales experience, minimum of three years in a similar setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Salesforce Platforms and FOSSE PMS is an asset
Desired Education:
  • Diploma/degree in business, marketing or hospitality management considered an asset
