About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety to join our team at E.R. Squibb & Sons. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our environmental, health, and safety efforts within the New Brunswick facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Regulatory Management
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, safety, medical surveillance, and sustainability laws, regulations, codes, rules, and consensus guides.
  • EHS Program Development and Implementation
    • Develop and implement new EHS programs, policies, and procedures, and update and improve existing ones.
  • Technical Expertise and Guidance
    • Provide technical acumen and oversight to all EHS programs and activities on-site.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Lead continuous improvement of site EHS culture, model what good looks like.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to site personnel.
    • Collaborate with site and above-site teams to drive EHS excellence.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
    • Communicate effectively with site personnel, management, and external stakeholders.
    • Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry partners.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance EHS performance.
    • Stay up-to-date with emerging regulations, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications
    • Bachelor's degree in environmental, industrial hygiene, physical sciences, or engineering, advanced degree preferred.
    • Prefer certification through an accredited organization.
  • Experience and Skills
    • At least 10 years of direct EHS experience in similar research and development operational pharmaceutical space.
    • Broad EHS campus management or multi-site experience desired.
    • Extensive knowledge of applicable Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
    • Working knowledge and application in industrial hygiene, compound banding, high-risk work operations, and environmental media.
    • Strong leadership skills and previous management experience.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proclivity for partnership and cross-team collaboration.
    • Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, proven ability to work independently.
