About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the production and management of detailed working drawings, ensuring they comply with current zoning by-laws and architectural controls. You will work closely with various departments and external consultants to obtain necessary components, including floor and truss engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the entire process of developing design drawings into comprehensive working drawing construction sets.
  • Ensure architectural working drawings are consistent with marketing materials and follow all architectural control requirements.
  • Manage architectural project timelines in coordination with projected sales launches.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of construction documentation, including additional details for permit applications.
  • Ensure designs conform to municipal zoning by-laws.
  • Create and manage lists of lot upgrades and exterior color packages, adhering to internal and external architectural guidelines.
  • Conduct site visits to refine or correct details within working drawings and review exterior color packages.
  • Create and ensure options and extras are loaded in Newstar.
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of construction and architectural standards.
  • Coordinate and issue construction releases in the appropriate order to ensure homes are built in the appropriate timeframe.
  • Oversee the creation of a siting analysis on a project-by-project basis, ensuring its accuracy and alignment with architectural control requirements.
  • Review and assess site sitings to ensure compatibility and prevent grade-related expenses.
  • Ensure sales material, renderings, brochures, and schedules are completed prior to sales releases.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an architectural role within the residential construction field.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading a team with proven success in achieving critical deliverables.
  • Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to create drawings within AutoCAD.
  • Full understanding and knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (Part 9).
