We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at BC Cancer. As an Oncology Chemo Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing holistic nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans for patients with cancer, including symptom management, treatment coordination, and education.
- Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Administer Medications and Treatments: Safely administer medications, injections, and other treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Document Patient Information: Accurately and thoroughly document patient information, including medical history, assessment findings, and treatment plans.
- Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure a safe and respectful environment for patients, families, and staff by adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
- Education and Certification: Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Experience: One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
