Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for full lifecycle procurement activities for a portfolio of medium-to-high complexity procurement packages for the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) program, inclusive of systems, equipment, and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to meet business objectives and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Manage stakeholder relationships to ensure accurate and timely advice is provided to the business.
- Perform full life cycle supplier management activities, including pre-qualification, supplier engagement, supplier negotiations, and supplier performance management.
- Ensure on-time material delivery and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) adherence.
- Develop and implement Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP).
- Manage sourcing events to meet cost management and scheduling expectations.
- Perform a full suite of contract management activities, including contract preparation, executive briefings, participation in and/or leading negotiations, and post-award contract administration.
- Fulfill Purchase Order management requirements, including invoice review and attestation to ensure first-time match invoice management.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- In-depth understanding of end-to-end supply chain and procurement activities, typically acquired through practical, on-the-job experience.
- Minimum of three years of experience in shipbuilding, aerospace/defense, heavy manufacturing, construction, or relatable industries.
- Demonstrated ability to complete assigned procurement tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information and maintain high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite.
