We are seeking a self-motivated and highly engaged Part Time Unit Clerk to join our team. As a compassionate and caring team member, you will make a personal difference in the quality of life of our patients.
Position Summary:The Unit Clerk will perform various administrative and clerical duties to support the patient care unit, reporting to the Patient Care Manager. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day staff scheduling as per collective agreements
- Maintaining patient records and scheduling appointments
- Coordinating patient transportation and escorts
- Providing effective communication to internal and external clients
- Maintaining clerical supplies for the healthcare team
- Answering high-volume telephone inquiries
- Participating in continuous quality improvement activities
- Promoting a safe and healthy workplace
- Grade 12 Diploma plus Community College Business/Office Administration or Medical Diploma
- 2 years' related experience
- Experience in a healthcare environment an asset
- Knowledge and experience working in a unionized environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent customer service, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment
