Psychologist Masters position available at Saskatchewan Hospital, providing services to adult population through direct services, consultation, community resource development, and education.

The Psychologist Masters will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, reporting directly to the Chief Psychologist/Director Forensic Services.

Job Description

The incumbent will provide Psychology services to a primarily adult population. These services will be delivered through a combination of direct services, consultation, community resource development and education.

  • Deliver Psychology services to adult population through direct services, consultation, community resource development, and education.
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with clients and interdisciplinary team.
  • Conduct client assessments and provide individual, group, and crisis management/stabilization counselling skills.
  • Develop educational resources and presentations to support client education and skill development.
  • Provide psychological consultation and direction to other disciplines on the team and in the community.
Required Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Clinical Psychology.
  • Registered with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologist as a full practising member with Authorized Practice Endorsement (APE).
  • Valid Class 5 License.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet and work with clients, utilizing sound judgment, tact, initiative, and high standards of integrity and responsibility.
  • Ability to collect, record, and report comprehensive client information accurately in verbal, written, and electronic formats.
  • Ability to conduct client assessments and engage in effective treatment planning.
  • Ability to develop educational resources and presentations.
  • Ability to facilitate educational and skill development groups.
  • Ability to provide individual, group, and crisis management/stabilization counselling skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated ability to perceive and analyze problems, develop alternatives, and effect innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage time and stress.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in psychological assessments of adult clients with mental health and/or addictions issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to select, administer, and interpret a comprehensive range of psychological tests.
  • Proficient in computer software (Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Understanding of clinical theory, best practice, and experience in working with adult and/or child and youth mental health populations.

Travel is required for this position.
