About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Engineer to join our team at Gannett Fleming. As an Intermediate Transportation Engineer, you will play a key role in developing long-term career opportunities with experienced transportation professionals.

In this position, you will work closely with our traffic engineering lead to provide traffic engineering services for a wide range of projects, including municipal roadway and provincial highway projects, transit and rail projects, and transportation-related facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth traffic assessments and impactful traffic analysis studies to shape the planning and construction phases of projects.
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary team environment to identify issues and mitigation measures to satisfy approval requirements.
  • Engage in every stage of infrastructure projects, from brainstorming in the planning phase to crafting preliminary designs and diving deep into detail design.
  • Support preparing engineering drawings, sketches, layouts, and other technical documents.
  • Attend internal and external meetings with multidisciplinary teams to discuss project progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Venture into site inspections and investigations to gather data and inform project decisions.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • P.Eng. or eligibility for P.Eng. certification.
  • At least 5 years of traffic engineering experience after university graduation.
  • Hands-on experience with traffic modeling and simulation software, such as Synchro, SimTraffic, Vistro, HCS, and Vissim.
  • Proficient with MS Office tools and a methodical approach to solving problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
