We are seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop, and own Tier 1 services that determine eligibility for an ad to be served, working with multiple software engineers and other team members to drive innovation and deliver high-quality experiences.

**Job Description**

Advertisers spend tens of billions of dollars on Amazon advertising each year to grow their business. We are looking for exceptional software engineers to build the next generation of tools for these advertisers to control their advertising efforts across multiple ad products in the Amazon Advertising portfolio.

Our team focuses on the 80% of advertisers that are small and medium-sized businesses, delivering simple, intuitive solutions to help them grow their reach and sales. We build redundant, highly available systems that scale massively to ensure our advertisers can enhance discoverability for all their products online and connect Amazon customers with sellers and selection worldwide.

We are increasingly focused on helping our advertisers reach new markets and build a strong brand presence, requiring us to think globally and strategically about how we build our software to operate 24/7/365 in over 20 countries.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Design, develop, and own Tier 1 services that determine eligibility for an ad to be served
* Work with multiple software engineers and other team members to design and develop new ways of providing exciting and compelling experiences
* Measure success by the quality of execution, pace of innovation, and increased satisfaction delivered
* Collaborate with Product and Program Managers to drive innovation and deliver high-quality experiences

**About the Team**

The ad serving team is responsible for powering a low-latency, high-scale ad serving workflow for the largest Amazon Advertising product - Sponsored Products. We provide a true balance between platform scale and platform business requirements, ensuring that every change made by a developer directly contributes to business growth.

**Requirements**

* 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
* 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling
* Experience programming with at least one software programming language
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

**Preferred Qualifications**

* 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
* Experience with object modeling, GC tuning, and memory optimizations
