Job Title: Business AnalystJob ID: PL Location: Vancouver, BCOverview:The Business Decision Support Professional facilitates complex decision-making in support of the design and implementation of business change or improvement initiatives. The Business Decision Support Professional is most likely an expert in business, specializing in a particular field such as Risk Management, Policy Advisory, Strategic Planning, Business Process Improvement, or Business Transformation.What you will be doing:
  • The company's safety requires a Business Analyst to support a process improvement project for Annual Safety Requirements Planning (ASRP). The ASRP process is used by the company personnel to identify required actions, at monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual or other frequencies, and track performance to plan. The current tool is a simple excel spreadsheet that is used by Workforce Managers. The improvement project will broaden the scope of the tool to support employees in other roles (Asset Manager, Delivery Partner, Contract Owner) to identify and fulfill safety responsibilities, map out the as-is and to-be processes, as well as contemplate transition of the excel-based tool to a more robust, customizable database in the future. The excel tool will need to enable reporting of completions at various levels of the organization (i.e. the individual user, plus roll-up through the next-level teams (e.g. regional levels), the Key Business Unit, and Business Group.
  • Translate business insights into strategic, actionable options by obtaining and organizing key business information, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Facilitate decision-making across diverse groups of stakeholders by using excellent skills in communication, critical thinking, and persuasive influencing to deliver recommendations that align to the business goals.
  • Maintain meaningful business relationships by prioritizing strategic considerations in a complex environment with diverse groups of stakeholders so that projects are implemented as planned.
  • Plan and organize business initiatives by using knowledge in business drivers, risk tolerance, and trade-off processes, to enable successful integration and adoption in the company's complex and regulated environment.
What you must have:
  • A minimum eight (8) years of strategic business analysis experience or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Advanced English skills for professional environment, written and spoken
