Seeking a strategic thinker and accounting professional to lead the Town of Truro's Financial Management, Human Resources, IT, and Procurement departments.
About the RoleThe Director of Corporate Services will work closely with the CAO and Senior Management Team to oversee all aspects of the Town's Financial Management, including budgeting, accounting, reporting, and internal controls.
- Supervise the Finance Manager, IT Manager, Manager of Facilities and Safety, Purchasing Officer, and Manager of Human Resources.
- Participate in Senior Management team discussions on budgeting, strategic planning, and organizational flow.
- Attend Council meetings to discuss financial reporting and address municipal issues.
- Provide financial guidance to the CAO, Town Council, and external agencies.
- CPA designation.
- 5+ years in a progressive management role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics G or similar ERP accounting software system.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and PSAB standards.
- Human relations and negotiating skills.
- Knowledge of the Municipal Government Act.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated analytical, administrative, and supervisory skills.
