Job Summary:

Spirit Ridge is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef De Partie to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food to order for our guests, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare high-quality food to order for guests based on established guidelines, using a variety of cooking techniques and ingredients.
  • Team Leadership: Coach and counsel junior team members to ensure they meet Hyatt service standards and procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition food, beverage, and dry goods from the storeroom, and ensure that refrigerators, freezers, and working areas are kept clean and organized.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that equipment is functioning properly, sanitized, and report any maintenance issues to the engineering team.
  • Quality Control: Ensure strict control of waste and portion, and help to control food quality and cost using standard recipe methods and pictures.
  • Guest Service: Provide exceptional customer service, and never say no to a guest request without offering an alternative.
  • Communication: Comply with requests from departmental managers, and attend appropriate meetings.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as required, including sweeping, mopping, and general cleaning to ensure a clean and sanitary work environment.

Requirements:

  • Culinary Experience: Minimum of 3 years cooking experience, with 3 years as a 1st Cook or 1 year as a CDP.
  • Education: Culinary Journeyman Red Seal certificate required or equivalent.
  • Skills: Knowledge of butchery of meats & fish, preparation of soups and sauces, and ability to work in all areas of the line.
  • Personal Qualities: High energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, and ability to improve the bottom line.
