Empire Life is seeking an experienced Actuary to lead the development and pricing of new insurance products, ensuring sound practices and profitability.
As a key member of the Group Finance and Actuarial team, you will be responsible for analyzing and modeling new product initiatives, ensuring they meet business objectives and regulatory requirements.
With a strong background in actuarial science and a proven track record in the life insurance industry, you will be a key contributor to the company's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:- Lead the initial pricing analysis, modeling, and ongoing performance monitoring of new specialty product initiatives.
- Support Product & Marketing teams in the launch of new products and ongoing analysis to ensure existing products remain competitive.
- Oversee reserving and valuation results in respect of specialty products.
- Maintain strong working relationships with reinsurance partners to support ongoing product development and risk management objectives.
- Ensure all pricing activities are compliant with relevant corporate policies.
- Present pricing and risk management recommendations to senior management teams.
- Completion of FSA and/or FCIA designation.
- 8-10 years of relevant work experience in actuarial roles within the life insurance industry.
- Advanced actuarial and modeling skills, including practical experience in the pricing of insurance products.
- Advanced working knowledge of spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong influencing skills and the ability to develop recommendations that balance competing objectives.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Working knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory capital requirements for the Canadian Life insurance industry.
