Position Overview:As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse. Under direction, you will load and unload trucks, prepare incoming and outgoing shipments, and maintain accurate records. This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare items for shipment, including scanning labels, placing on skids, and identifying containers.
- Move shipments in the transportation unit using a forklift, ensuring safe and efficient handling.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items and recording shortages.
- Correspond with shippers to rectify damages and shortages, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Route items to appropriate departments, when applicable, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Maintain the integrity of all documentation and properly record information according to departmental procedures.
- High School diploma preferred
- One or more years of experience in a manufacturing or processing environment, demonstrating good organizational and attention to detail skills
- Ability to work with a computer database
- Ability and experience driving a forklift
- Available to work on an evening schedule: Tuesday to Friday 3:00 to 11:30 pm and Saturday 8am to 4:30 pm
