**Project Controller Job Description**
Support multiple projects in accounting and finance, managing careers of business team members, establishing trust with upper management, and providing meaningful insight for decision-making purposes.
**About the Role**
As a Project Controller, you will be responsible for managing and developing careers of business team members, establishing trust and credibility with upper-level management, and providing meaningful insight and accurate analysis to those same managers for decision-making purposes.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage and develop careers of business team members
- Establish trust and credibility with upper-level management
- Provide meaningful insight and accurate analysis for decision-making purposes
- Manage division of responsibilities and communication between various project and home office departments
- Drive continuous improvement throughout the organization
- Effectively utilize data, reports, and tools for risk analysis and benchmarking
- Review project and estimate cash flows, contract terms, and change orders for financial risks and opportunities
- Recognize when and who to escalate specific conversations/issues
- Understand, substantiate, and reconcile all financial reports
- Create an inviting workplace that motivates and challenges team members to achieve career goals
- Understand the needs of the organization and develop team members through critical conversations and performance reviews
- Monitor results of new processes, trouble-shoot failures and issues, and present solutions to unsolicited problems
**Requirements**
- 8+ years of financial/data analysis experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
- Strong working knowledge of accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Effective communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to balance multiple tasks and responsibilities
- High level of professionalism and standards
- Managerial experience
- Ability to freely access all parts of a construction site in various climates and environments
- CPA, MBA, or public accounting experience preferred
- Financial or accounting experience in construction or engineering industry preferred
- Knowledge of or familiarity with principal field business management systems: SAP, CMIS, PMIS, and Prolog (P.O. and A/P) preferred
- Proven track record of successfully developing or managing a team preferred
