CBCL is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Scientists/Biologists to join our team of dedicated environmental professionals, where your skills and passion will contribute to meaningful projects and initiatives.

In Atlantic Canada, our Environmental Team has been engaged in numerous exciting projects and we are looking to further grow with individuals who want to advance their career and take on new challenges as part of a dynamic team.
The ideal candidate would have experience in one or more of the following core areas: birds, bats, wetlands, aquatic (marine and freshwater) biology, terrestrial wildlife/ecology, vegetation ecology, GIS, and/or conducting environmental assessments and regulatory permits/applications.

Ideally the candidate will be based in Halifax, NS, or any of our New Brunswick offices in Moncton, Fredericton or Saint John.

The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of projects. The key responsibilities of this position may include:

  • Provide consulting services in the capacity of an Environmental Scientist related to the core areas of our work provided above;
  • Contribute to the preparation of detailed technical reports, including analyzing field and technical data;
  • Coordinate, lead, and/or support biological field surveys as part of our multi-disciplinary Environmental Sciences Team;
  • Participate in the development of proposals, including preparation of project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Support regulatory and stakeholder consultation engagement activities;
  • Work with many environmental project mangers, but also collaborate with project managers from our various other departments and branches;
  • Work collaboratively with other environmental professionals on our Team; and
  • Build and/or support client relationships.

Your Credentials and Capabilities:

  • University Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, or related disciplines (e.g., B.Sc., M.Sc.);
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and technical writing skills;
  • Knowledge of federal and/or provincial environmental assessment and/or permitting requirements under applicable federal and provincial environmental legislation;
  • Potential for travel throughout Atlantic Canada and/or Ontario;
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various conditions
  • Strong advocate for occupational health and safety;
  • A valid driver's license;
  • Ability to work independently and with a team; and
  • Motivated, positive team player, who collaborates effectively and respectfully with others.
