About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Claims Assistant II to join our team. As a key member of our insurance defence litigation team, you will provide administrative support to our lawyers and play a critical role in managing our workflow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to our lawyers, including scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence, and preparing pleadings.
  • Implement an effective diary system to help manage our lawyers' practice.
  • Partner with assigned lawyers to manage workflow, schedule appearances, and monitor calendars.
  • Support clients in scheduling appointments, exchanging information, and communicating case progress.
  • Review and manage documents using software programs, ensuring electronic filing is up to date.
  • Provide support to assistants, clerks, lawyers, and management.
  • Proficiency in dictation with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Update knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Achieve organizational goals by living Intact's Success Factors.
Requirements
  • College diploma from a legal office administration or law clerk program, or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in insurance defence litigation.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong document management skills with the ability to learn and utilize Intact's various software programs.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize with a demonstrated disciplined approach to work.
  • Excellent communication, listening, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a team or independently, exercise sound judgment, and take initiative.
  • Demonstrate a disciplined approach to work.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
