As a Food Service Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and presenting meals, ensuring quality and presentation.
  • Performing prep work, such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
  • Carrying pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator.
  • Storing food in designated areas, following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
  • Setting up items for purchase on a daily basis.
  • Performing general cleaning duties, removing trash and garbage to designated areas.
  • Distributing supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
  • Serving customers in a friendly, efficient manner, following outlined steps of service.
  • Resolving customer concerns and relaying relevant information to supervisor.
  • Assuring compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
  • Providing service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.

Qualifications:

  • FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.
  • Familiarity with cash register operations is an asset.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to manage a heavy workload.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting as required.
  • Good command of the English language, both verbal and written, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food is considered an asset.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
