Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute data collection activities in the field, ensuring accurate and comprehensive data collection.
  • Operate a GIS handheld unit to capture data, adhering to approved guidelines and protocols.
  • Work independently, with minimal supervision, to achieve data collection goals.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and high-quality data delivery.
  • Travel to various field locations, including remote areas, to collect data.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education.
  • Valid G driver's license with a clear driving history.
  • Proficiency with MS-Office and ability to learn new systems and software programs.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to interface with other departments.
  • Technical aptitude for digital hand-held devices and mobile app software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a telecommunications environment.
  • Experience working with GIS devices, like Trimble or IKE GPS units.
  • Experience in outside plant engineering.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • 1-2 years of experience working as a Land Surveyor.
