NL Health Services is responsible for delivering health and community services to more than 528,000 people living in Newfoundland and Labrador and employs over 21,000 people.

Job Summary
The Administrator is responsible for all services provided within the long-term care facility and reports directly to the Senior Operations Manager of NL Health Services Long Term Care Program for all long-term care services.

The Administrator is accountable for supporting and promoting the strategic direction of NL Health Services and the Salvation Army Divisional Board. The incumbent will provide leadership in planning, implementation, and evaluation of an integrated team based organizational structure and resident centered care delivery model. The incumbent will maintain and evaluate programs and services to ensure quality care. They will have primary responsibility for day-to-day operations of the facility and will provide leadership to managers and staff of all departments, covering both clinical and support/infrastructure areas. The incumbent will work collaboratively with other site managers to provide support systems related to the overall operation of the organization. The incumbent will maintain strong working relationships with NL Health Services departments and programs and work collaboratively with other long term care sites within the region.

Job Qualifications
Education
Graduation from an approved/recognized post-secondary education program with a Bachelor's Degree in a health-related discipline is required.
Master's Degree in the applicable area is preferred.

Experience
A minimum of five (5) years' progressive management experience including managing people, budgets and processes is required, preferably in a long term care resident focused care philosophy environment.
Experience managing projects of a complex nature including leading effective strategic change management initiatives is required.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
A dynamic leadership style focused on the LEADS framework.
Ability to effectively manage financial resources by monitoring budget variances and establishing actions to achieve a balanced budget.
Ability to maintain change through leading, motivating and empowering staff in the administration of the program and services while demonstrating commitment to NL Health Services' philosophy of management principles and values.
Ability to exercise discretion and good judgement in building successful networks and teams and contacts with senior leadership and stakeholders, and in reviewing sensitive information.

Demonstrated time management, organizational, and analytical skills.
Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation, and networking skills in order to establish, foster and maintain positive working relationships with residents and their families, staff at all levels of the organization, volunteers, community special interest groups and municipal and provincial authorities.
Demonstrated high level oral, written and presentation communication skills for the purpose of facilitating decision making through clear and well-structured reports, presentations, briefs, submissions, and strategic documents.
Knowledge of strategic planning process and methods in long term care for successfully communication and executing strategy.
Knowledge of quality improvement and risk management theory and practices.
Knowledge of project management systems, practices and experience in leading teams to deliver assigned projects.
