Job Summary: Packaging Operator required to meet and exceed operation targets in safety, quality, and productivity, with a focus on safe practices, customer satisfaction, and teamwork.

Job Responsibilities

Safety

  • Comply with Occupational Health & Safety Act and Apotex policies and procedures
  • Prevent safety incidents by attending regular safety meetings and applying relevant knowledge
  • Report all safety incidents, near misses, and accidents immediately
  • Embody a safety culture with zero tolerance for incidents and accidents

Quality

  • Build highest quality into products by performing packaging duties according to Standard Operation Documents
  • Access corporate sources for updated information and documents
  • Exhibit Good Documentation Practices
  • Conduct quality checks as directed by higher-level technicians and supervisors
  • Report all quality deviations immediately
  • Contribute to continuous improvements and prevent quality deviations

Productivity / Equipment

  • Execute Packaging Orders with efficiency and effectiveness
  • Operate packaging equipment within specifications
  • Maintain proper supplies of packaging components
  • Participate in changeover process, including sanitation and set-up
  • Ensure proper selection, care, and use of tools and equipment
  • Communicate necessary information timely and accurately
  • Support team to deliver expected business results
  • Work in a safe manner, collaborating as a team member
  • Demonstrate behaviors that exhibit organizational values: Collaboration, Courage, Perseverance, and Passion
  • Ensure personal adherence with compliance programs
Job Requirements
  • Grade 12 education or recognized equivalent
  • Able to lift weights up to 20 kg
  • Able to meet standard physical demands in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to express oneself clearly in English, understand, and follow verbal and written work instructions
  • Numeric skills to understand and achieve business targets
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Self-managed team player with a positive attitude
  • Previous Packaging Operator experience in a GMP environment is an asset
  • Proven technical competency and basic experience in internet environment and MS office tools
