Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at Chénchenstway Long Term Care in Burnaby, B.C. This is a part-time opportunity that requires a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify care concerns and develop individualized care plans.
- Provide direct nursing care, including wound care, dementia care, and palliative care, in accordance with established policies and standards of nursing practice.
- Collect and document relevant information to enable the provision of quality care, including resident/client and family teaching and evaluation of care.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, resident/client care coordinators, and other healthcare professionals.
- Act as an advocate for residents'/client's rights and dignity, in accordance with standards of professional practice and philosophy of Residential Care/Acquired Brain Injury Services.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, including gathering information, providing input into proposed policies, and supporting advanced clinical practice.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and collect statistical and quality improvement data for research and evaluation purposes.
- Ensure a safe working environment by following health and safety guidelines, reporting unsafe conditions, and completing safety audits.
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- One (1) year's recent, related gerontological nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of nursing theory and evidence-informed practice.
- Ability to apply clinical knowledge in practice.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to provide leadership and clinical guidance.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
