We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading a team of transmission line and civil engineers on various projects, including the Capital Replacement and Upgrade program and Direct Assigned and Customer Connected projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of transmission line and civil engineers to deliver project designs and subject matter expert reports on time and to quality standards.
  • Review engineering contractor estimates for cost, schedule, quality, and safety, and ensure best practices are implemented.
  • Work closely with other functional groups to ensure commitments are met and obstacles are removed.
  • Provide direction and constructive feedback to a diverse team of senior engineers.
  • Build relationships with internal and external business partners to ensure the best design outcome for our customers.
  • Make quick decisions on project issues with little or incomplete information.
  • Stand in for the Director of Engineering, Projects as required.
  • Act as a regulatory witness for CRU Transmission Lines projects as required.

Requirements:

  • University Bachelor Degree(s) in Engineering required.
  • A member in good standing with APEGA with eligibility to become a Responsible Member is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of transmission lines design or related experience.
  • Previous management experience would be an asset.
  • Experience with Standards, Materials, Codes, and Specifications preferred.
  • Proficiency in designing with PLSCADD would be an asset.
  • Proven ability/experience in the above-noted responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Ability to create an inclusive environment.
  • Excellent problem solver coupled with a proven ability to lead groups involved in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Effective communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships within all levels of an organization.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously.
