About the Role

The Global Casualty and Fin Pro actuarial team within Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is seeking an experienced actuary to lead the development of portfolio strategy and drive business growth through data-driven decision making.

This role offers a unique blend of technical leadership and business acumen, requiring a deep understanding of (sub)portfolio performance, loss drivers, and trends for each product.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement portfolio strategy to drive business growth and profitability
  • Lead the development of pricing models and ensure their accuracy and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with underwriting leadership to support strategy development and prioritise execution strategies
  • Lead a team of four actuarial professionals and provide coaching and development opportunities

About the Team

We are a team of actuarial and portfolio management professionals providing support to Corporate Solutions liability businesses around the world. We work closely with our business partners to offer portfolio steering support based on data-driven decisions.

About You

  • Minimum 10 years of actuarial experience, including significant time spent pricing general and/or professional liability products
  • ACAS/FCAS designation required
  • D&O pricing experience preferred
  • Critical skills:
    • Self-motivation and ability to work independently
    • Ability to drive team performance
    • Strong organizational skills and internal drive to push projects forward
    • Curiosity to understand "what" the data is saying and "why"
    • Interest in developing data-based strategic actions with portfolio owners
    • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical colleagues
    • Creativity to consider actuarial problems in new ways
