Key Responsibilities

  • Food Safety and Handling
    • Ensure food is handled, stored, and labeled in accordance with internal and external guidelines and protocols.
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Assist cooks in basic food preparation and execute proper food service procedures.
    • Serve meals according to resident diet orders.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance
    • Wash, clean, and maintain the kitchen and dining room to ensure a safe and healthy environment.

Requirements

  • Possess a current Safe Food Handling Certificate.
  • Have a caring heart with a passion for serving others.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference given to those candidates who have successfully completed or enrolled in a Food Service Worker Program meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act.
