What's the Job Opportunity?

Speedier. Smarter. Safer. This is Aecon's promise as we strive to become the top utility construction provider in Canada. We are seeking a Resource Driller to help us achieve this goal.

As a Driller reporting to the Superintendent, you will be responsible for drilling, GeoExchange, and geothermal system installations.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Operate drilling equipment while prioritizing safety.
  • Set up and maintain hose lines and water connections.
  • Maintain equipment and tools, assisting in repairs when needed.
  • Manage inventory and enter QA/QC data.
  • Handle construction materials, support U-Bend loop installations, and provide training to junior personnel.
  • Complete safety documentation promptly and engage in manual labor tasks.
  • Promote an inclusive culture to foster equity, diverse perspectives, and career advancement.

Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' drilling experience (water well, micropiling, geoexchange, etc.).
  • Manual dexterity, physical strength, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lead, offer great customer service, interpret drawings, and plan projects.
  • Capacity to work in varying weather conditions and challenging terrains.
  • Strong communication skills, commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Required Certifications: MOL 4 Step Safety Awareness, Ontario Working at Heights, Valid Driver's License.
  • Additional Certifications (Preferred): H2S Alive, CSTS, First Aid and CPR, Rig Technician, Ground Disturbance Level II, among others.
