About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Actuarial Analyst - 4 Month Co-op. You will be responsible for processing, validating, and analyzing statistical data, producing reports, and participating in various activities specific to the work team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process, validate, and analyze statistical data and produce reports to be used as a basis for actuarial work or for meeting specific business needs.
  • Participate in the various activities specific to the work team (product pricing, production analyses, provisions, financial forecasting, etc.) by applying standard actuarial principles.
  • Produce computer reports and make improvements as needed using various programs and software (SAS, R, Python, SQL, VBA, Excel, and Access).
  • Share knowledge and explain basic actuarial principles to peers.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (or Master's, if applicable) in actuarial sciences, mathematics, statistics, finance, or economics, or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Available to work with us for a 4-month period (Winter, Summer, or Fall).
  • Must be an actively enrolled student during your internship or returning to school in the following semester.
  • 1-2 CAS/SOA exams completed is considered an asset.
  • Computer skills (SAS, VBA, R, Python) and good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Initiative and autonomy.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
  • Adaptability.
  • Customer-driven mindset.
