Early Careers: Pension Associate, Defined Benefit Pension Administration

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our office. As a Pension Administration Professional, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality services to our Defined Benefit Pension clients.
Key Responsibilities- Calculate Benefit Entitlements: Calculate benefit entitlements on retirement, termination, death, and marriage breakdown.
- Pension Administration: Conduct calculations on PAs, PSPAs, and PARs, and prepare applicable filing forms.
- Indexation and Annual Pension Statements: Prepare indexation and annual pension statements.
- Year-End Update: Perform year-end update of plan records, including the reconciliation of the membership, contributions, and trust fund.
- Government Forms: Prepare government forms, including the Annual Information Return, Form 7, and PBGF forms.
- Pension System Testing: Assist with testing the pension system for new and existing clients according to the plan provisions and administrative requirements.
- Standard Operation Procedures: Assist with maintaining standard operation procedures.
- Member Support: Respond to member calls and facilitate requests.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain members' records.
- Experience: 1+ year working with Defined Benefit pension plans preferred.
- Education: Preferred education in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, and Finance.
- Skills: Previous work experience in calculating complex benefit entitlements on retirement, termination, death, and marriage breakdown; experience in year-end tasks (PAs, PARs, Indexation, Annual Statements, etc.); calculating and reporting PAs, PSPAs, and PARs; knowledge of related provincial and federal pension legislation and Income Tax Act provisions; good oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team; experience with pension administration systems, strong spreadsheet competencies, and math proficiency required.
