Our Technologies group empowers Sherritt's business development efforts with specialized expertise in hydrometallurgical processing. Job Description As an Operations Accountant, you will be responsible for: • Maintaining accurate inventory records for both the Metals and Fertilizer product • Liaising with our fertilizer sales agent for fertilizer sales on sales contracts and credit approvals • Managing, recording, and reconciling cash receipts, fees, interest, and payments made for all IRM accounts • Recording invoices and tracking collection of Technologies sales and intercompany cost recoveries for Technologies • Liaising with Technologies and Fort Site Fertilizer operations to assist in analysis of results and support improvement opportunities • Completing the AR function for Sherritt Utilities, including preparing invoices, collections, and reporting • Recording, collecting, reconciling, and monitoring all by-product sales and utility sales/cost recovery • Identifying and developing forward-looking value to support Manager, Accounting on various continuous improvement and growth initiatives • Representing Finance and providing support for Fort Site Operational Excellence initiatives • Protecting the integrity and stability of the Joint Venture by ensuring the JV Agreements are adhered to and that monthly transfers for products and services between the JV and shareholders are consistent with the principles of the JV Agreements • Supporting the enhancement and management of accounting systems and internal controls to ensure the fiscal integrity of the business while continually optimizing the Fort Site's control environment Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: • A college diploma in business or accounting • 5+ years of relevant work experience (manufacturing industry is preferred) • Understanding of current accounting best practices and standards • Ability to conceive and implement a business plan • Analytical and problem-solving skills • Proven ability to adapt to new technologies and tools that create efficiency and accelerated change • Communication, writing, and presentation skills What We Offer We offer a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, paid time off, learning and professional development opportunities, and an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and promotes an equitable, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture.
