Join our team as an Accounting Specialist and contribute to the success of our organization. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in managing internal reporting, analyzing financial data, and supporting business units in tracking their workflow.

About the Role

  • Manage monthly, quarterly and year-end internal reporting by working closely with various departments, including other finance teams.
  • Prepare underwriting results and expense forecasts.
  • Analyze underwriting results in close cooperation with the actuarial team.
  • Support our various business units in tracking their workflow.
  • Participate in initiatives to improve financial systems and accounting processes.
  • Think critically about the controls in place and the various accounting treatments related to our operations.
  • Make recommendations and suggestions to management based on your expertise.
  • Simplify, standardize and improve controls of different work files.

Requirements

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA) or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience with Power BI, VBA, Smartview.
  • At least three to five years of relevant experience in accounting, IFRS accounting standards and finance.
  • Fast learning, agility and adaptability to change.
  • Discipline, autonomy and professionalism.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization, including management and some external stakeholders.
  • Bilingualism (French-English). You will be interacting regularly with colleagues from across the country.
