Job Summary:
As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to provide top-quality pharmaceutical services to patients. This entry-level position is perfect for those eager to gain experience in the healthcare industry while contributing to the smooth functioning of the pharmacy. Your responsibilities will include customer service, medication preparation, inventory management, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Greet customers, answer inquiries, and handle phone calls professionally.
  • Prescription Processing: Assist in processing orders under supervision.
  • Medication Dispensing: Count, measure, and package medications accurately and securely.
  • Inventory Management: Receive, stock, and monitor inventory levels.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with clerical tasks and insurance claims.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all laws, regulations, and privacy policies.
  • Other Duties: Support special projects and events as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a pharmacy assistant program preferred.
  • Experience: Prior retail or healthcare experience advantageous.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organization: Effective organizational skills to manage tasks efficiently.
  • Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills required, training provided.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate and contribute positively to a team.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.

Working Conditions:
  • Full-time position with typical weekly hours of 35 to 40.
  • May require standing for extended periods and lifting/moving moderate-weight items.
  • Work shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
