General Duty Nurse

Job Description: Under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional registered nursing services for patients with complex and unpredictable health needs. Services include independent nursing, administration of prescribed medical treatments, and leadership within the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide independent nursing services, administer prescribed medical treatments, and facilitate coordination of patient care and discharge.
- Leadership: Take a leadership role within the healthcare team and demonstrate a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region/facility/unit.
Requirements:
- Education: Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required. Successful completion of a relevant post-basic program may be required.
- Certification/Licensure: Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM). Active participation in professional associations, such as the Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM), is preferred.
- Skills: Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills, critical thinking/problem-solving skills, and ability to prioritize care for an individual patient or group of patients.
- Pediatric Experience: Pediatric experience is preferred.
Work Environment:
- Physical Effort: Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
