Responsibilities:
The Quality Assurance Tester will work as part of a team responsible for testing a variety of internal and third-party applications needed to support the business such as billing and point of sale systems and mobile applications. This role will participate in the requirements analysis process to ensure validation and verification, creation and execution of tests based on system requirements and user journeys. Responsible for maintaining a repository of test artifacts to enable demonstration of system and component compliance and create clear and meaningful defect/incident reports while assisting the team in defect resolution. Working closely with vendors, business analysts, and project teams, the position will focus on implementing QA processes to reduce effort and increase efficiency and ensure all issues are identified, logged and resolved effectively.
The ideal candidate is a technical problem solver and planner who demonstrates a high level of autonomy, strong attention to detail, excellent communicator, capability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities, and maintains structure and organization in daily work activities.
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering, web design, or a field related to the industry
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills in dealing with software systems;
- At least two (2) years of experience with functional testing, preferably working with crm and pos solutions;
- Knowledge of functional testing including test management and execution tools, with solid understanding of data analysis;
- Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and QA methodologies;
- Experience developing and executing test plans and test cases;
- Experience in defect management and defect management tools [e.g. QC, Jira, Bugzilla];
- Experience in working with web and desktop based applications;
- Hands on experience with test automation tools
- Experienced in Waterfall and Agile/Scrum Methodologies
- Knowledge of telecommunications and I.T. business and process frameworks, preferably relating to billing systems is an asset;
- Strong written and oral communication skills
