Student Intern - Water Resources

Join our team at Parsons, a digitally enabled solutions provider focused on the defense, security, and infrastructure markets, as a Student Intern - Water Resources. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with intelligent, diverse people sharing a common quest, and to be part of our Critical Infrastructure team.

About the Role

We are seeking an adaptable, self-motivated student with excellent working skills, both individually and in a team. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of water engineering and be able to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and external clients through excellent verbal and written communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks for infrastructure projects with a focus on drainage and stormwater management;
  • Coordinate with other technicians and related disciplines to produce design deliverables;
  • Compile design drawings;
  • Prepare design submissions and other technical documents;
  • Assist Senior Engineers and Designers as needed.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering (or related field) co-op program;
  • In good academic standing;
  • Interested in civil/water and infrastructure design/construction field;
  • Extracurricular involvement is considered an asset;
  • Experience with municipal infrastructure, field work experience, and construction is an asset;
  • Experience in development of project layout and civil details;
  • Experience with Civil 3D is strongly preferred;
  • Experience with Microstation/OpenRoad is an asset.
