The Lac La Ronge Indian Band is seeking a highly skilled Financial Management Specialist to join our team in La Ronge, SK. As a key member of our Social Development Department, you will be responsible for organizing and maintaining our Financial and Accounting System.
Key Responsibilities- Provide financial information from our computerized accounting system, including monthly variance financial statements and general ledger data.
- Process transactions in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Administer and monitor the financial activities for the income assistance program as required.
- Prepare reports for various funding agencies.
- Prepare for the annual year-end audit.
- Maintain the computerized accounting system.
- Maintain financial files and records, including scanning and archiving documents according to policy.
- Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in full cycle accounting and budgeting.
- Advanced proficiency with accounting software and applications.
- Computer literate, including effective working knowledge and skills of MS Word, Excel, and email.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, laws, and reporting requirements.
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
- Able to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Ability to provide a recent and satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check and SGI's Driver Abstract.
- Ability to be bondable.
