Senior Business Analyst, Global Compliance Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join our Global Compliance team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in upholding the highest standards of accountability and transparency within our Compliance Program.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Decision-Making: Develop and refine reporting dashboards and presentations for top-tier executives, driving impactful actions based on strategic insights and adherence to comprehensive policies.
- Initiative Impact: Develop and implement success metrics that accurately measure and support strategic outcomes, enhancing the impact of initiatives.
- Non-Financial Risk Assessments: Navigate and streamline non-financial risk assessments for Compliance, including TPRM, NIRA, RCSA, and more, ensuring a robust and proactive approach to risk management.
- Policy Integrity: Safeguard policy integrity by diligently maintaining Policy Standards and managing the Global Document repository with precision.
- Reporting Innovation: Identify and implement automation and standardization opportunities, setting new benchmarks for efficiency.
- Actionable Insights: Deliver actionable insights through data analysis, informing strategic decisions that align with regulatory mandates and the Bank's overarching objectives.
- Leadership Collaboration: Collaborate with leadership to review and refresh Global Compliance & AML documentation, incorporating insights from various risk domains to maintain relevance and accuracy.
- Bank's Vision: Embody the Bank's risk appetite and cultural ethos in daily responsibilities and decision-making processes, driving the Bank's success.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
- Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
Requirements
- Professional with 3+ years of banking/financial services experience
- University degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Mathematics is desirable
- Excellent analytical capabilities with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate, very comfortable with quantitative & financial analysis
- Experienced in data collection, querying and graphical reporting
- Able to visualize information and summarize in a clear and concise manner and adapt communication to Senior management
- An expert user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to organize and manipulate data
- Ambitious, attention to detail and top performer that thrives in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic business environment
- Able to manage multiple activities to aggressive deadlines
- Experience in PowerBI and/or Advanced SharePoint Site Management skill are a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluency in Spanish is an asset
