Project Cost Controller

Our client, a leading provider of agricultural products and services, is seeking an experienced Project Cost Controller to support its capital program within the Lanigan Potash Site.


The Project Controller will undertake various aspects of project cost control processes including project setup activities, monthly project accruals, monitoring actual costs, forecasting spend to completion, and project reporting. The Project Controller will implement systems and reporting to support control and management of the project.


Duties of the Project Controller will include, but are not limited to:


• Working closely with the project team, construction contractors, and site personnel to ensure project controls are in place and effectively implemented

• Operations cost tracking

• Facilitate and participate in meetings with Project and Portfolio Managers, Stakeholders, and other Site/Corporate personnel

• Project cost control, analysis, and reporting

• Planning and interaction with project teams for successful project completion

• General support to Operations, Finance and Executive teams as required


Education/Qualifications:


• Certification or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related discipline

• 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience

• Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered


Assets:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as well as an aptitude for learning other specialized finance/project software packages

• Experience in project cost control or accounting/finance functions

• Confident communicator at all levels internally and externally with the ability to articulate different points of view

• Strong attention to detail

• Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently

• Strong work ethic

• Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Level-headed, with the ability to deal with challenging, high stress situations

• Ability and interest working at a project job office on a mining site

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Flexibility


Hours of work will vary; however, will generally be 6 am to 4 pm – four consecutive days/week.
