Reporting to the General Manager, the Production Engineer will be responsible for improving and optimizing the production process and making sure we deliver a quality product to our customers.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze KPI’s and performance data of the production
  • Develop methods and plans to improve manufacturing and maintenance operations
  • Implement and drive continuous improvement activities
  • Implement quality control procedures and methods of waste reduction
  • Maximize manpower utilization and processes
  • Oversee all production, shipping, inventory, and maintenance issues
  • Identify training needs and conduct or authorize training
  • Meet daily with the IT team to improve process automation
  • In conjunction with Health & Safety Advisor, Initiate H&S meetings, practices, plans (modified work), etc.
  • Schedule, delegate, and ensure plant and equipment maintenance. Follow up on maintenance logs
  • Plan, organize and direct manufacturing and maintenance operations to ensure the most effective return on assets
  • Revise and submit management and performance related to the areas of responsibilities
  • Implement quality control procedures and methods to reduce waste
  • Oversee pre-production proces and scrap and remnants reduction
  • Ensure that machines, trucks, trailers, forklifts, plant, yard, and office are in good condition and that all hauling equipment is roadworthy
  • Proces and order materials


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a production engineer role
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to establish strong and trusting relationships with employees
  • good organizational and multitasking skills
  • knowledge of the concepts and tools of continuous improvement
