Responsibilities

For over 75 years, Harlequin is the leading romance brand with a loyal fan following all over the world

We’re looking for a savvy, creative, innovative individual to create a stir and a lot of buzz about the Harlequin brand and publishing initiatives in North America. In this role you will lead the Harlequin brand marketing and PR strategy, bringing new disruptive initiatives and head turning partnerships forward , while creatively driving attention to our key titles and series brands. You will harness the power of the loyal and passionate Harlequin fan base in North America, while cultivating more fans to join the Harlequin fandom. You will continuously challenge the existing environment and scanning the external environment, keeping an eye out for emerging opportunities and rapidly responding by pivoting internal plans.

You are an exceptional leader with a passion so contagious, a communication style so engaging that you’ll easily influence and rally internal teams and external stakeholders to support the vision You will provide sound direction and guidance to the brand marketing and PR team through overseeing the planning, development and execution of programs and initiatives, keeping a keen eye on KPIs and ensuring the efforts support the overarching brand business goals to drive brand awareness, equity and sales in North America.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has:
  • 8 + years of related PR and brand management experience with a strong background in digital marketing, partnership development and relationship management.
  • Post-secondary degree in PR/Business/Marketing
  • Creative and innovative thinker who isn’t afraid to challenge the existing environment and possesses a strong drive for results and excellent communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic and highly collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with internal business teams to achieve outstanding business results
  • Strong decision making and judgement skills, strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to make difficult decisions
  • Demonstrable experience designing and implementing successful PR and marketing strategies.
  • Experienced leader with strong management skills and the ability to coach, provide feedback and grow talent.
  • Calm under pressure, with the ability to take initiative, effectively lead cross-functional team and prioritize multiple projects under tight timelines.
