This Natural Gas Scheduler/Analyst position will be responsible for scheduling, balancing, maintenance, and optimization of CIMA's Canadian Natural Gas businesses. These businesses include sizable production assets as well as managing a significant volume of LNG Canada Feedgas and related transactions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and optimizing, through scheduling and balancing, which includes trade execution, Division assets and service agreements, including significant production, transportation, and LNG Feedgas management and related transactions.
  • Scheduling gas flows for Division assets and working with the Canadian team to maximize gas flows. Pipeline systems will include NGTL, Westcoast, and Coastal GasLink.
  • Transportation portfolio and imbalance management.
  • Position will include an on-call coverage rotation with the Canadian team, which will provide 24/7 on-call scheduling, management, and trade execution coverage for LNG Canada and related assets. The employee is part of a team of four employees who will alternate overnight and weekend on-call responsibilities. Further details of this schedule will be provided to each candidate.
  • Utilizing CIMA's ETRM and other systems, actualizing and tracking Division activity.
  • Working closely with Houston headquarters and our Parent Company on transaction management. The employee will interact frequently with front-office, mid-office, and back-office teams.
  • Collaborate with our team and customers to support trading-related activities and inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with strategies, risk parameters, corporate policies, and regulations.
  • Communicate all materials concerns and developments to the VP and other members of the team.
  • Supporting CIMA's other Marketing activities in Canada.

Preferred experience/skill required:

  • Minimum 2-year Western Canada scheduling experience required, and some Western Canada trade execution experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degrees in a job-related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Natural Gas market fundamentals, particularly in Western Canada.
  • Strong knowledge of the Natural Gas transportation and storage grid, particularly in Western Canada. Experience with the NGTL system is a requirement.
  • Strong customer relationships in the Western Canadian market.
  • Exposure to trade execution on ICE/NGX preferred.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills including a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills fostering positive and respectful relationships in our diverse and international workplace. Respectful relationships and communication practices with fellow employees and customers is required.
  • Accuracy and diligence in negotiations and communications.

  • CIMA employees have the option to work remotely 2 days per week (Monday and Friday).
