On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is looking for a Project Manager with retail project experience in defining project objectives, developing schedules, allocating resources, managing budgets, and coordinating the efforts of agile team members and their vendor partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with the desired outcomes aligned to objectives.

Responsibilities:
  1. Utilizing a project management methodology and processes for project activities and gates; creating and managing standard project management artifacts and activities as required, including project plans, budget, scope, schedule and timeline, risk register, status reports, and others, with a focus on effective delivery.
  2. Initial project planning, soliciting estimates, incorporating change management, establishing timelines, and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion of projects, including the planning and execution of projects that are new product implementations, integrations, technical evergreen upgrades, and/or hardware and software rollouts.
  3. Obtaining and allocating resources: assigning tasks to the agile delivery team, and allocating resources effectively to ensure project success.
  4. Ensuring compliance with information privacy and security assessments, and project governance, procedures, and practices, including escalating unresolved issues.
  5. Monitoring project deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and align with project requirements, managing testing activities as required.
  6. Maintaining accurate project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes, for future reference and auditing purposes.
  7. Executing and supporting other project activities and tasks for one or more projects as reasonably required by the BCLC Project Manager services to be performed.
  8. Other tasks as reasonably required by the BCLC Project Manager.
Qualifications:
  1. The successful candidate(s) will have the knowledge and skills typically acquired through a degree or equivalent diploma program in technology supplemented by formal project management training and certification including PMP (preferred) or PRINCE2.
  2. The successful candidate(s) will have at least 5 years of significant and recent, related experience in a leadership capacity on complex initiatives, including the ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and provide guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle in an agile delivery environment.
  3. Excellent organizational, planning, and scheduling skills with very strong attention to detail.
  4. Familiarity with predictive and hybrid project management as well as managing projects in kanban/agile style and utilizing work management tools such as Jira.
  5. Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly identify potential issues and risks and craft innovative solutions.
  6. Experience navigating interdependencies across multiple business teams, agile delivery teams (Scrum, Kanban, Hybrid methodologies), and external partners.
  7. Effective negotiation with sponsors of other initiatives, product owners of teams with competing priorities and deadlines, and others.
  8. Application of appropriate judgment and discretion in the resolution or escalation of project issues and recommendations to Steering or Governance committees.
  9. Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to communicate complicated technical issues effectively to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences: executive and senior leadership; product managers; project agile team members; vendor partners; service providers; and other stakeholders.
  10. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
  11. In-depth knowledge of standard project management methodologies and tools including scope and budget management, work breakdown structures and scheduling, stakeholder management, communication planning, risk assessment, readiness assessment, etc.
  12. Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite/SharePoint, Jira / Confluence, and MS Project.
  13. Experience with SaaS applications and integrations in complex environments, mobile applications, and vendor management is essential.
  14. Experience working with a Crown corporation is preferred.
  15. Experience with the gambling industry preferred.

Hourly rate: $110 per hour.
