Job Summary:

The Data Remediation Lead is responsible for developing and executing the overall Data Remediation strategy for Equipment Master Record data at the Department of National Defence (DND). This role requires excellent SAP analysis and change management skills to ensure the successful remediation of data. The Data Remediation Lead will collaborate with the DRM-SM Technical Authority, DND Central Data Managers, and other key stakeholders to develop, update, and maintain the Data Remediation Plan.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and Execute Data Remediation Strategy: Collaborate with DND to define and document the overall Data Remediation strategy
  • Document Business Rules: Work with Central Data Managers (CDMs) to establish fleet-specific data and business rules, and document item type-based data rules and remediation procedures
  • Engage Stakeholders: Solicit input from fleet data owners on the quality of their data to inform the Data Remediation Plan
  • Utilize External Data: Identify and develop methods to utilize external data sets, databases, and libraries provided by DND to support Data Remediation activities
  • Define Workflows: In collaboration with DND, define and document Data Remediation workflows, including data governance procedures
  • Performance Management: Develop performance management metrics and reporting to evaluate the efficacy and cost per record of Data Remediation activities
  • Progress Reporting: Report on progress for each active Task Authorization, including any key performance indicators developed
  • Manage Data Remediation Technicians - assigning work as required to achieve team deliverables


Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible for or currently hold a valid Secret (Level II) Clearance with the Government of Canada
  • Must have two years of experience in planning, documenting, and executing substantial Master Data Remediation involving master data records in an ERP system including: Initial Master Data quality analysis, Consultation with data owners in the development of a Master Data Remediation Plan, Establishing data governance rules within a Large Organization, Documentation of a Master Data Remediation Plan, or Management and oversight of the execution for a major Data Remediation imitative
  • Must have completed a University degree in one of the following domains: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or Applied Math
  • Must have experience working on at least one (1) project which utilized SAP Information Steward to analyze Master Data quality
  • Must have experience working on a least one (1) project which utilized SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) to enforce Master Data quality rules
  • Must have experience working on at least one (1) project in planning, documenting, and executing a Master Data Remediation* plan for a Client operating SAP ECC 6.0 or higher
  • Proven experience in SAP analysis and change management
  • Strong understanding of data remediation processes and strategies
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to develop and document business rules and workflows
  • Experience in performance management and reporting
  • Experience managing a team


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with government or defense organizations.
  • Familiarity with data governance procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
