EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Reporting:

Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 5:00pm

Rate:

$22/hr

Responsibilities:

In the position of Equipment Operator your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Your main area of responsibility will be compactor hook up and working as a forklift operator.
  • When all the trailers are done being loaded you will be required to clean the compactor area and report to the tip floor for spotting duties.
  • Also, in this role you will be responsible for the support of the current transfer station Loader Operators.
  • Operation of any of the compactors as well as a Forklift and Skid Steer.
  • May be cross trained as a Backup Loader Operator to assist with business needs when required.

Requirements:

  • Previous compactor experience is a major asset
  • Completed the Miller Waste Systems Forklift/Skid Steer training course or a Forklift certificate.
  • Previous experience operating a Skid Steer will be preferential
  • Can work cooperatively with other machine operators
  • Are knowledgeable with pre-trip inspections and maintenance of equipment
  • You will be required to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays with limited notice.
  • You must be a team player
  • Have proven safe working habits
  • Must be punctual with an excellent attendance record
  • Be comfortable to perform repetitive movements and stand for extended periods of time
