Your Opportunity
Our Toronto office is looking for a Financial Analyst, Valuations & Modelling to join the Financial Advisory Services team and own the following responsibilities:
Valuation Responsibilities
Take part in discussions and meetings with our client- 's management teams to develop an in-depth understanding of the business interests or assets to be valued.
- Conduct research on the industry and economy in which the assets to be valued reside using databases such as S&P Capital IQ and Bloomberg.
- Perform valuations of various assets including business interests, financial instruments, and intangible assets using appropriate valuation techniques including discounted cash flow analysis, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions analysis, etc.
- Prepare detailed valuation reports and presentations to management.
Financial Modelling Responsibilities
Take part in discussions and meetings with our client- 's management teams to learn about the objectives of the underlying financial modeling exercise.
- Develop complex financial models to support budgeting, financing, or other strategic purposes for our clients.
- Perform scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to assess the impact of different variables on financial outcomes.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial models.
Ongoing Responsibilities
- Develop relationships with BDO's current and prospective clients.
- Build an understanding of the business development activities required to support the Valuations & Modelling practice.
- Work directly with partners and managers to identify opportunities for process improvements and enhance existing valuation and modeling frameworks.

Your experience and educatio n
A bachelor- 's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or another related field
- Enrollment in the CPA accounting certification program is mandatory
- Must be willing to pursue a CBV designation
- 1-2 years of Coop or working experience in an accounting or financial advisory practice
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Public accounting experience is considered an asset
