TRITAN Group is looking for a Building Envelope specialist for our client in the GTA. Someone well-rounded in building science and structural restoration, including knowledge in roofing, waterproofing, structural rehabilitation, masonry, windows, curtain walls, sealants, EIFS, site pavements, and other cladding systems. Our client is a vertically integrated development and asset manager focused on Class-A and vintage-style buildings. This role is ideal for candidates who want to roll up their sleeves, wear multiple hats, and contribute to all real estate investment and development aspects.


Roles and responsibilities

  • Conduct field reviews of building envelope elements on new and existing construction projects to determine whether they comply with design intent and repair methods.
  • Perform field reviews to assess the condition of existing/new building physical properties.
  • Coordinate field reviews with project site personnel and administer reviews to meet project budget and quality control requirements.
  • Keep informed of site issues that impact project quality and liaise with the direct supervisor to resolve the problems as needed.
  • Lead and oversee the design, analysis, and implementation of various building science engineering projects for new and post-construction restoration projects.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to integrate building science principles into the design process for various residential construction projects.
  • Undertake on-site visual and destructive investigations or performance testing of building envelope components to produce technical engineering reports.
  • Prepare technical reports and specifications for various building envelope-related projects, assessments, and investigations.
  • Senior consultation and review of technical reports and project specifications prepared by junior engineers and technologists for various building envelope-related work.
  • Field inspection and reporting for various building envelope-related construction projects.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in building science, green building technologies, and building code standards.
  • Prepare engineering proposals for building science-related projects and liaise with clients. · Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technologists.
  • Various other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities.


Qualifications

  • You must have at least 5 - 8 years of relevant full-time experience in building envelope design, investigation, and repair.
  • Must have strong verbal communication skills and experience with technical writing.
  • You must have experience with Builder Bulletin 19 Compliance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong interest in working on-site.
  • Willingness and ability to examine existing buildings, including working at heights and from a swing stage, scaffold, or lift.
  • Experience with historic structures and facades preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in building science, Architecture, or Engineering. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and work irregular hours
