The Role:
Champion the S&OP process including both the Demand Forecasting and Production Scheduling areas of the business. Ensure inventory management is optimized, and that volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved.
Be a coach and mentor to teams ensuring best practices are followed to provide a safe and efficient work environment and resolve escalated issues and problems.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead the S&OP process - including company Supply & Demand planning systems and processes
- Build and help standardize dashboards for strategic analysis and internal business review
- Communicate with all key stake holders to manage product demand, availability, and optimal inventory levels
- Develop demand forecasts – including operational short- and long-term forecasts
- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, and evaluate forecast results
- Analyze and reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated commercial/customer assumptions
- Interact with the commercial/customer facing team to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts
- Present the full year demand numbers and insights vs. the previous month's demand by customer during monthly S&OP meetings with senior management
- Manage the timing and allocation of new products skus and the phase-out of end-of-line skus
- Review forecast attainment weekly with the sales team and provide any significant update to supply planning on forecasts to adapt operations to optimal fulfillment rates and demand.
- During supply constraints, work with the other demand planners to provide supply planning with the allocations by customer/items based on inputs from the sales team and customer insights
- Lead by example with an approach to empower everyone in the team

Ideal Qualifications and Competencies:
- 5+ years proven working experience in Demand Planning, Logistics / Supply Chain / Production planning
- Excellent knowledge of planning and quality control principles
- Lead and influence demand planning strategies to maximize customer fill rates, minimize distressed sales, and minimize inventory redistribution due to forecast error, and decrease forecast variances
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Strong communication skills: ability to communicate information clearly
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail, fast learner, and quick thinker
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
- Microsoft Power BI knowledge is an asset
