KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. One or more years working experience in the A/V field in an installation or field-engineering capacity.
  2. A post-secondary education in Architectural Technology, Construction Estimator, or related field.
  3. One (2) to three (3) years of estimating experience.
  4. Demonstrated experience reading architectural designs, schedules, take offs, etc.
  5. Proficient with estimating software, tools, and MS Excel with a working knowledge of other MS Office programs.
  6. A self-starter who is results-oriented and understands the importance of quality.
  7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal) to build effective and long-lasting relationships with clients, team members, and contractors.
  8. Strong client focus, proactive and a desire to achieve results.
  9. Excellent attention to quality, accuracy, and details.
  10. Strong analytical skills with the proven ability to problem solve and troubleshoot to provide solutions.
  11. Proven ability to work in a high-paced environment requiring multi-tasking, time management, and organizational skills.
  12. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while collaborating with diverse individuals to accomplish stated objectives.

What will you be doing:

  1. You will be responsible for creating accurate and timely quotes that are cost-effective to the customer while being profitable to the business.
  2. Review and analyze architectural plans and specifications.
  3. Establish take offs and material breakdown sheets to determine the type and quantity of material that is required to complete quotes for audio video installations.
  4. Formulate accurate and detailed quotes for project design material, which will involve preparing a quote package using your knowledge of standard company pricing, discounts, estimating formulas, and guidelines.
  5. Process revisions and change orders as required as well as new requests for tenders before the specified deadline.
  6. Verify feasibility of special conditions with various departments.
  7. Communicate by email or phone with various external and internal stakeholders.
  8. Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation to support the quote.
  9. Recommend ways to quote projects that are more cost-effective and profitable to the company by providing innovative ideas and cost-savings initiatives.
  10. Confer with the Drafting Team on changes and adjustments to quotes and orders.
  11. Partner with the Project Management team on adjustments to quotes on awarded projects based on job re-works.
  12. Organize and plan work in an efficient manner to meet daily and weekly projects or team-related productivity goals.
  13. Meet tender close dates and project deadlines by organizing, planning, and managing time in an efficient manner.
