Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Environmental Project Scientist to join our team In this role you will get to work closely with a variety of professionals on Contaminated Sites and Infrastructure Projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

The primary responsibilities for this position will include project management, coordinating investigations and investigations, design and/or preparing reports for environmental site investigation (ESA), excess soil planning, and remediation projects. Specific job description includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Support of contaminated sites, remediation and infrastructure projects, including investigations, remediation design and excess soil planning, investigation and management.
  • Coordinate and preparation of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments reports to CSA and O.Reg.153/04 requirements;
  • Excess soil and waste management on infrastructure projects, contributing to planning and design inputs as per O.Reg. 406/19
  • Design support of infrastructure projects (roads/highways, transit, bridges, EAs, sewers/watermains) from a waste/contamination and excess soil perspective
  • Project Management and Coordination:
    • ESA and remediation related projects
    • Tracking and maintaining budgets and project finances;
    • Preparing Reports;
    • Maintain client relationships in various industries;
    • Liaise and support other engineering disciplines.
    • Primary point of contact with clients, junior staff, and other project managers.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Degree in earth sciences, environmental/chemical/geological engineering or similar programs
  • 3+ years of related experience at an engineering firm with strong experience in the applicable federal and provincial environmental laws and regulations within a Canadian (preferably Ontario) jurisdiction
  • 2+ years managing contaminated sites projects as a project manager or a report author
  • Technically strong with advance knowledge of environmental site assessments, excess oil planning and various remediation approaches
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Financially literate from a project management perspective
  • Track record of delivering high quality work products
