Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a leading insurer located in Toronto, ON. We are looking to hire a Senior Compliance Analyst to join their team on a contract basis of 6 months, which has the possibility of extension. This candidate will be working from their Downtown Toronto Office on a hybrid basis.


Your new role:


Regulatory Compliance:

  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes in Canada.
  • Ensure the organization complies with relevant laws, rules, and guidelines.
  • Prepare reports for submission to regulatory authorities.


Data Calls and Reporting:

  • Respond to data requests from regulatory agencies promptly.
  • Compile and analyze data to create accurate reports.
  • Collaborate with different statistical agencies to meet reporting deadlines.


Fidex Compliance Audit Tool:

  • Utilize fidex (or similar tools) for compliance audits.
  • Identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.


General Reporting and Liaison:

  • Generate regular compliance reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between compliance, legal, and business teams.
  • Communicate compliance updates and requirements effectively.


Licensing Support:

  • Assist in obtaining and maintaining licenses.
  • Address pending license issues with the regulator.
  • Coordinate with external legal support as needed.


Policy and Procedure Assistance:

  • Contribute to the development and review of compliance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory standards.


Cross-Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the US compliance team.
  • Share best practices and collaborate on cross-border compliance matters.


Heavy Reporting Responsibilities:

  • Manage a high volume of compliance-related reporting tasks.
  • Maintain accuracy and timeliness in submissions.


Requirements


  • Previous experience within compliance in an insurance company or financial services company
  • Experience with FIDEX
  • 3-5 years Regulatory Compliance experience
  • Able to work on their own – rest of the team is in the US
