Position Overview

We are looking for an Assistant General Manager to help oversee our Basecamp properties in the breathtaking Revelstoke region. As the Assistant General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering unparalleled guest experiences, leading dedicated teams, and ensuring the smooth operations of our guest services, housekeeping, and maintenance departments.

Salary: Based on Experience
Shifts: Full-time/Permanent

Key Responsibilities

  1. Promotes the Basecamp brand.
  2. Assist with hiring, onboarding and training of new staff.
  3. Provide leadership to all departments and department managers.
  4. Schedule staff and stay within the labor budget provided.
  5. Allocate daily staff to a list of duties and room allocations.
  6. Organize on-the-job training and evaluate its effectiveness.
  7. Insist upon meticulous cleanliness of all the properties.
  8. Ensure awareness of all policies and procedures.
  9. Make suggestions to the Regional General Manager concerning improvements.
  10. Perform any other related tasks as may be assigned by the Regional General Manager.
  11. Work closely with guest services, housekeeping, and maintenance to ensure rooms are ready.
  12. Proactively address guest comments/issues, ensuring these are handled in a timely and professional manner, meeting or exceeding guest expectations.
  13. Help achieve departmental goals and contribute ideas for better guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and revenue enhancement.
  14. Work with the Regional General Manager and department managers to create, maintain, or improve policies and procedures.
  15. Meet weekly with the Housekeeping and Maintenance personnel to discuss the upcoming week and work as a team to provide a quality product.
  16. Pay attention while organizing pest eradication activities.
  17. Help create off-season events and promote our rooms and services.
Requirements
  1. Be familiar with the operation and programming of the Webrez point of sale system.
  2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows – Outlook, Excel, Word.
  3. A solid understanding of pricing, budgets, and cost controls.
  4. A strong knowledge of hotel/resort operations, human resource management, inventory management, and asset allocations.
